Superintendent Information:
Mike Daugherty,
Golf Course Superintendent, is originally from Mascoutah, Illinois.
He attended college in the Danville area, graduating with a degree in
Turfgrass Management. Prior to joining the Sunset Hills staff in 2002,
Mike had the position of Superintendent at Bogey Hills Country Club
in St. Charles, Missouri. He also served as Assistant Superintendent
of Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton, Illinois from 1988-1996 and
as Superintendent of The Ridge Golf Course in Waterloo, Illinois from
1996 to 1999. Mike is a member of the Golf Course Superintendent's Association
of America and Past President of the Mississippi Valley Golf Course
Superintendent's Association.
Tim Johnson,
Assistant Superintendent,
joined our golf course team in 2003. A long-time resident of this area,
Tim graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1979 and from Belleville
Area College in 1993 with a Horticulture / Turf degree. His past experience
includes ten years with Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton, Illinois,
serving as Assistant Superintendent for six years and as Head Golf Course
Superintendent until 2003. Tim is a current member of the Golf Course
Superintendent's Association of America.
